Early Career Researchers 2011 (Brisbane)
Showcasing Early Career Researchers Awards are presented annually by the Cooperative Research Centres Association. Here are the winners and presenters at the Keeping ahead of the curve conference in Brisbane in 2011.

Dr Elena Toh from the Oral Health CRC was the Showcasing Early Career Researchers winner in the Research Presentation category (10 minute presentation)
Elena's presentation was on her research into the ability of cow's milk to fight gum disease.

Ms Parama Banerjee from the CAST CRC was the Showcasing Early Career Researchers winner in the Three Minute Thesis category.
Parama's presentation was on her research into the prevention of corrosion in the gear box of Navy helicopters.

Mr Mike van Alphen from the CRC for Contamination Assessment and Remediation of the Environment (CRC CARE) presented his research on asbestos and public protection.
Dr Elizabeth Ganter from the Desert Knowledge CRC
Dr Elizabeth Ganter from the Desert Knowledge CRC presented her research into the experience of Aboriginal public servants employed in the Northern Territory.
Dr Jorge Mejia from The HEARing CRC
Dr Jorge Mejia from The HEARing CRC presented his research on noise reduction technology to address the problem of background noise for users of hearing aids.
Ms Jie-Lian Beh from the CRC for Forestry
Ms Jie-Lian Beh from the CRC for Forestry presented her research into using trees for soil mapping.
Mr Mathew Joosten from the CRC for Advanced Composite Structures
Mr Mathew Joosten from the CRC for Advanced Composite Structures presented on his development of computer models to assess the crashworthiness of helicopter structures.
Dr Adam Kerezsy from the eWater CRC
Dr Adam Kerezsy from the eWater CRC presented his research on Australia's desert fish.
