Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) conference, May 15-17, Perth
The 2001 CRC Association Conference will focus on return from investment in the R&D associated with the Cooperative Research Centre Program, which has been running for a decade.
This return on investment includes dollar returns to Australia's economy and balance of trade figures, as well as environmental and social returns.
The CRC Programme differs from traditional R&D programs carried out in universities, government departments or CSIRO. Research is conducted in partnerships between research agencies and industry or research end-users. This means much greater ownership of research directions and use of outputs.
Media are invited to attend the 2001 CRC Association Conference at the Novotel Langley Hotel in Perth later this month where speakers include:
- Hon. Dr Geoff Gallop, Premier of Western Australia & Minister for Science - conference opening and welcome
- Professor Lowitja O'Donoghue, Chair of the CRC for Aboriginal & Tropical Health - discussing how the CRC is stimulating broader education and training experiences for Aboriginal communities
